Team

The interactive computer platform and the exhibition arose from a research project led by Flavia Caviezel at the Institute of Research in Art and Design at the Academy of Art and Design FHNW. The research was carried out from December 2010 to September 2012 and was completed with an exhibition and an evaluation workshop by the end of 2012.

Interdisciplinary Team
For the audiovisual research and the development of the exhibition scenography we are working as interdisciplinary team:

Flavia Caviezel (project manager)  Ethnologist / Film Scientist / Videast
Since 1991 she realises documentary essayistic video work for inter/national festivals and exhibitions.
Worked as senior researcher and lecturer at ZHdK Zurich University of the Arts, since 2007 at the Institute of Research in Art and Design in Basel (Academy of Art and Design FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland) and other Universities.

Mirjam Bürgin  Artist / Scenographer / Lecturer
Using installation, video and performance for her artistic work she collaborates in intercultural exhibition and theater projects in Switzerland as well as abroad. She teaches at different institutions among others at the Zurich University of the Arts and the F+F – School of Art and Media Design Zurich.

Marion Mertens  Environmental Scientist / Water Biologist
After working for several years at the Eawag she is now employed at Life Science AG, an ecology office in Basel. The main focus of her work are studies of fish and water ecology, the conception and design of exhibitions as well as the consultancy for freshwater ecology for the project RhyCycling.

Yvonne Volkart  Art Historian / Germanist
Doctorate on Fluide Subjekte. Anpassung und Widerspenstigkeit in der Medienkunst. She was a curator of the Shedhalle Zurich (2009-12), teaches at the Academy of Art and Design FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and is an independent author and curator. Among other she curated Ecomedia. Ecological Strategies in Today’s Art (Oldenburg/Basel), Lands End. Landscape as Image and as Space and Live Wire. Art and Electricity (both Zurich).

Anselm Caminada  Musician / Sound Designer
He works in the context of time-based media as film and video, multimedia installations, theater and dance. He designs and produces audio walks. His interests range from environmental noises to abstract sounds. He is guest lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts and conducts audio workshops at high schools.

Theres Jörger Designer. The focus of her independent and applied work is the spatial typography. She works together with the photographer Susanne Stauss together for image finding.

Oliver Koch  Computer Scientist and Trainer Elite sports. He researches at the Institute of Research in Art and Design of the HGK FHNW in the field of „Augmented Reality“ and works on different web projects. Aside he coaches athletes in elite sports.

Tweaklab Basel  Company for audio/video production and post production, planning, programming and installation in the field of electronic media. Various teams from applied and artistic fields attend to the content as well as the technical and creative implementation.
